I thought that I should write about the Texas Rangers winning the American League pennant, since fanboy Bobby Ross, Jr., is probably still sleeping off a serious Ginger Ale hangover.
Christianity vs. yoga?
I’m always surprised at how many people don’t know the relationship of yoga to Hinduism. The Washington Post/Newsweek “On Faith” had a piece on the topic a few months ago. In “The Theft of Yoga,” Aseem Shukla, an associate professor in urologic surgery at the University of Minnesota medical school and co-founder and board member of Hindu American Foundation, wrote:
ESPN's Dusty Baker faith no-no
In keeping with the baseball theme I started Wednesday, I wanted to take a look at a compelling, 2,700-word ESPN.com profile of Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker.
Baseball demons, angels and Jesus
When my beloved Texas Rangers clinched the American League West championship on Sept. 25, Josh Hamilton steered clear of the champagne-and-cigar celebration in the visitors’ clubhouse in Oakland, Calif.
Faith of (all) the Steelers
You’re apparently not the only person of faith in the National Football League, headlines to the contrary notwithstanding.
Life and death of Mike/Christine
LA Weekly recently published what is, in many ways, a stunning account of the life and death of Mike Penner/Christine Daniels. It’s an extraordinary, heartbreaking story of the Los Angeles Times sportswriter who killed himself in 2009 after a highly public transition from Mike to Christine and, finally, back to Mike.
Football night lights
When a large religious group sets aside entire month for fasting, you can imagine there will be physical implications for people who might need to eat, like pregnant women and athletes.
Minnesota's defender of the faith

But like with the Jewish High Holidays last year, I’d rather highlight a story that bucked the trend of holiday boredom.
Haters gonna hate
As I may have mentioned here a few times, I bleed orange and blue. My dad raised me to be a Broncos fan and I will never shake it. This year’s pre-season coverage is interesting because we obtained one Tim Tebow in the draft. Now, I’ve had lots of discussions with other Broncos fans about whether they think this was a fantastic move or not, and none of them have centered on Tebow’s faith in Christ.
