Bobby Ross Jr.
A former religion editor for The Oklahoman and religion writer for The Associated Press, Ross serves as chief correspondent for The Christian Chronicle. He was honored as the Religion Newswriters Association's 2013 Magazine Reporter of the Year.
Ross got his first newspaper byline as a 16-year-old Texas high school sophomore in 1984.
In the three decades since, he has produced thousands of news stories, trend pieces, features and columns. In the multimedia age, he also tweets, blogs and shoots photos and videos. He joined GetReligion's team of contributors in March 2010.
And talk about burying the lede: Ross is crazy in love with his wife, Tamie, and the super-proud father of Brady, Keaton and Kendall. A 1990 journalism graduate of Oklahoma Christian University, he lives in the Oklahoma City area, where he's a deacon of communications for the Edmond Church of Christ. He's passionate about his faith, Texas Rangers baseball and country music.
