While many people are obsessing about Hagee and Wright, I found the recent Evangelical Manifesto interesting as one more piece of evidence that "red" versus "blue" is gradually losing its hold.

The other error, made by both the religious left and the religious right, is to politicize faith, using faith to express essentially political points that have lost touch with biblical truth. That way faith loses its independence, Christians become the “useful idiots” for one political party or another, and the Christian faith becomes an ideology. Christian beliefs become the weapons of political factions.

Called to an allegiance higher than party, ideology, economic system, and nationality, we Evangelicals see it our duty to engage with politics, but our equal duty never to be completely equated with any party, partisan ideology, or nationality. The politicization of faith is never a sign of strength but of weakness.

I find it strange that "religious" or people that attend church more frequently seem to ignore Hillary Clinton's blatant lies and malicious attacks on Obama. Stories about sniper fire in Bosnia. Hillary told voters she wanted to give them a gas tax hike when she knew Congress would never approve it because it was a bad idea.

The media called Hillary a fighter for using lies to gain an advantage with the voters.

I did not vote for Bill's reelection because he was not the role model I wanted for my sons. Bill and Hillary have a long history of unethical behavior the church attenders ignore. Hillary is not a role model I want for my grandaughters.

Most people do not understand that Rev Wright's Go* Da* America was toward the US govt for thinking they were God by starting unjust wars that kill innocent people for revenge or other wrong motives.

In my opinion, Obama has expressed a more Christian view "we are our brother/sister' keeper." Going to work in a low paid community service job after college demonstrated Christian values.
