For example, the general public doesn't know that the Catholic Church frowns on getting pregnant this way as much as it frowns on avoiding getting pregnant by mechanical or homonal means. Even some Catholics think the "pro life" principle countenances getting pregnant as much as possible, and sees these methods as praise-worthy. No - they're missing the point. I'd be interested to know the various religious stands on artificial insemination and the like, and the reasoning behind them. Maybe that will be the next article. Chip:

Even some Catholics think the “pro life” principle countenances getting pregnant as much as possible, and sees these methods as praise-worthy. No - they’re missing the point.

I’d be interested to know the various religious stands on artificial insemination and the like, and the reasoning behind them. Maybe that will be the next article.

Are wantabe parents ignoring their traditions' teaching on fertility treatments (did the Stansels, for example, consider Mormon teaching on fertility treatments before they sought intrauterine insemination)? Is the tragedy described in this article a result of seeking a procedure contrary to religous teaching in the first place? There is no way of knowing from this series of articles.
