When I say, This is what God said. That means Gods message above is his, word for word. Exactly as I heard it.
God also had something to say about a few things that are written in the Bible. One example is that God said that Good Atheists go to Heaven and Bad Christians can go to Hell. Having Faith and believing in Jesus does not guarantee you eternal life. It takes more than that. He also said that a number of people have been deceived by false prophets. He does not condemn those that have been deceived. You are judged by yours works, not by your faith.

What does this mean? It means that Birth is Last and Last is Birth. God also gives an example so that you can understand this better. Example: Mike Douglas died on his birthday. (Note: Mike Douglas and Michael Douglas are two different people.)

What those comments, including mine, said was that McCain’s mentions of God in his speech so conform to customary political God-talk as to be subliminal to reporting what was, after all, a political speech.

ABERNETHY: You were at the Democratic Convention as well as the Republican Convention. How did they compare in their attention to religious life?

LAWTON: Well, religion was part of both conventions, but it was handled very differently. At the Democratic Convention, it was really front-and-center this time around — a big change from the past, and the Democrats were really trying to advertise, Hey, we do like religion, because a lot of Americans think they don’t. So all of their events were very high-profile. On the Republican side, it wasn’t so much front-and-center, but it was certainly there. Religious people were very involved, but it tended to be more on the sidelines a little bit, not in primetime. Also, in the Democratic Convention you saw all these faith groups coming together — diversity gathered. In the Republican Convention, it was a little more narrowcast, so you had Roman Catholics meeting together, evangelicals meeting together — separately. But they both really paid attention to religion.

True she was talking about the conventions in general rather than the speech and also most of their report to no surprised was about Palin, but I did find her perspective interesting.

Which is not to impugn Sen. McCain’s faith. It’s just that standard political rhetoric, like many marketing ploys in a media society, doesn’t stick. And that’s not a failure to “get religion”.

Early in George W. Bush’s presidency when W. woul end a speech, he would end it with “God bless you and God bless America.” I recall some had their noses bent out of shape over that because of that church/state issue.

Almost all the speakers I watched at BOTH conventions ended their speeches with “God bless you and God bless America.”
