I do agree with your analysis of the story with one addition - one of my oft repeated hot buttons. How about a sidebar with in on spirit possession in other religions from classic Christian exorcism to Tibetan Buddhist rites. Maybe there's no room on the printed page, but on the web it would be nice for those interested to be able to put compare and contrast such aspects of this religion with similar beliefs in others ones.
